would you look at that, where have those 8 years gone? Ryan graduated on Wednesday.... he's on his way to highschool in September! I was inspired to make a layout using the sketch that Hayley has posted for the Saturday sketch challenge over at The Paper Passion. it was a great one and lended itself to interpretation very easily. gotta love those G45 papers.

the end of an era
today is Ryan's last day in grade 8. Where have those years gone? It seems like yesterday that I had to drive them every morning to school and now no more. My babies are growing up! Ryan is a little bit sad but a whole lot happy that today has finally come. I am a whole lot sad and a little bit happy LOL. His classes are picked for next year, although there is some debate about the 3 enriched classes he is enrolled in. I think it might be too heavy but we shall see.
Here's to an end of an era........

Happy anniversary honey!!!
today is my anniversary. I can't believe it's been 21 years already. where has the time gone. I am going to have a sappy moment here..... I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful guy and made him all my own. There have been some very interesting times that we have shared over the last 21 years and we have made it through them together. He makes me laugh everyday.... sometimes at the things he says and does and sometimes just because. I thank God for him. -I love you more today honey than ever. I am so glad that you asked me to skate that night in 1982..... who knew it would turn into something so amazing all these years later.
Funny this is our anniversary because it is also a blog hop over at The Paper Passion. The theme of the hop is to celebrate a special man in your life.... perfect theme for me huh? If you are part of the hop, you probably came from Hayley's blog - http://www.hayleycreates.blogspot.com. If I am your second stop on the hop you are probably looking to move on to Wendy's blog at http://www.wendysommers.blogspot.com
have fun and keep on hopping!!!

off I go again
just when I was feeling all caught up, I have to go back to work. alas, such is my life. I did get alot accomplished this week though and I am finally feeling that I am getting more done than just chasing my tail. We were able to go out and get Ryan his dress shoes for his graduation..... I ended up spending way more than I had wanted to.... since he will probably only wear them once and then out grow them.... but that's what I get for taking Gary with me shopping.
well, better run, work is calling

here I am
well, I am on a roll, blogging 2 days in a row. there should be an award for that. LOL I am finally starting to feel sort of caught up. I thought I would post a layout that I made last year commemorating my daughter's graduation from highschool. Our family gets to celebrate another graduation this year.... Ryan is graduating from elementary school. He has is day already planned out. (who says it's the girls that do all the planning?) He asked his Dad to drive him to the venue in the Camaro. He will make quite an entrance when that rumbles in. He picked out his suit and his shirt and tie. He chose red on red for shirt and tie colour because red is a power colour. (I kid you not) He looks very handsome all dressed up and I can't wait for the day!!

bad blogger!
I am such a bad blogger..... no posts in forever. my bad!! I have had an incredibly busy week. I was lucky enough to get to Ottawa for a nursing conference last Wednesday. The conference was great (although I did crack a tooth and need a crown now). We stayed with my good friend Lee Ann. It was so nice to catch up since I hadn't been down in 2 yrs. I was very lucky to be able to meet Rosa and a bunch of girls from The Paper Passion. Rosa is so talented when it comes to refinishing wooden pieces of furniture.... my favourite is a fireplace mantle that she has done.
it has been a whirlwind of activity since I got home. I was able to get to the drag races and see an armdrop live .... don't know what that is? It is drag racing with someone standing between the cars and dropping their arms and the cars racing.... it was fun. I have been to a fishing derby as well. Alas, no fish for me that day. I did 3 night shifts, did dog class and took a reluctant 13 yr old out to get a suit for his graduation. For the record, Ryan looks incredibly handsome (I got in trouble for calling him cute) in his suit.
I went to a workshop yesterday in Toronto about intrapartum labour support. I am part of a task force to teach and foster nursing support for women in labour. I am incredibly fired up about this. As I see it, we in the healthcare field, have moved to the high tech end of the continuum and we need to shift it back to the basics and provide good nursing care during labour and reduce unneeded interventions. We need to advocate for our patients and champion the rights of women. I look forward to being able to teach these concepts to others around the West Cluster and fire them up about it too!!
well, since today and tomorrow are my only days to myself, I better get going.......

wanna be the next GDT at The Paper Passion?
I have has such a fun time over the last month and a bit working with Rosa and Hayley. These ladies have made my time as the GDT fun and amazingly inspiring. I got to be inspired by so many over at The Paper Passion. I am sad to see my time coming to an end..... but the end of my time means the beginning of a new term for not 1 but 2 people. Applying is easy..... head over to http://thepaperpassion.typepad.com/ and check out all the deets..... good luck!
just one more sleep
I am so lucky. just one more sleep and I get to meet lots of people that I have been talking with at The Paper Passion forums for the past few months. I am so excited words can not describe. Rosa from the Paper Passion is holding a little party at the store so we can all get together. If you are free, and are in the Ottawa area tomorrow night, The Paper Passion store is the place to be!!
I am also excited about getting to hang with my old friend Lee Ann. I have missed her. It is going to be a crazy 2 1/2 days in the nation's capital.
thought I would share a few layouts that I have been working on lately.... cute huh?
gotta love the June Cherry Hill kit at TPP
