3D Rudolph tag

I loved the tutorial over at Splitcoast stampers this week. It was all about how to make a 3D tag..... I had a few misgivings making a tag with Rudolph's head as the main feature, but I soon got over it. It was a whole lot of fun, but next time, I would use tissue paper or tissue tape to cover the head instead of torn up book pages, it was just too hard to mod podge such a small item...... all in all I really like how my 3D Rudolph tag turned out

who's starting to feel Christmasy?

I admit it, I am starting to feel the Christmas spirit.  I look forward to it every year.... contrary to what my daughter might say......

I was busy the other day making tags..... I used Memory box dies.  It was a great way to use up scrap paper.... and they whipped up really quickly.  I love these dies and think I may just have to make a bunch more of these.... who knows, they might be making their way to a mailbox near you!

more to add to the wedding album

creating more layouts to go in my daughter's wedding album.  I used Ruby Rock-it Reminisce for those.  I really like the pop of colour the pink gives the layout.  The flower and the ribbon are the actual ones I used to make her bouquet out of.

Happy Halloween

I can't believe it's Halloween.  I sure hope there's still candy left ...... my big trick or treaters have gotten into it. maybe I should run out today and get some more

I have been a little creative lately.  I have been using Ruby Rock-it from the Scrapping Nook.  I thought I would make a quick card.   not what I thought it would be like when I started, but I like how it turned out in the end

Windy Tuesday

the tropical storm Sandy went through last night.... oh my!!  the wind and rain was incredible.  I heard there were 87 km/h wind gusts last night.  gladly things seem safe and sound outside.  It's a great day to stay in and create something.... and this is what I was up to

promise I will post more!

I'm telling you, I turn around an a month has gone by..... how does that happen?  It's fall and I have to admit fall is my favourite time of the year.... the smells, the sights and , of course, the food!!  I sit here and I can look out my front window and see the 2 red maples on my front lawn.... they are putting on quite a show right now.  Those kind of things make me happy.

I have been creating lately.... wanna see?     have a wonderful day and take a little time to see the beauty of nature that's all around us.

I got a bunch of new Crafter's Workshop templates from Scrapbook Queens and I have to tell you that they are just so fun to play with. I made a few tags and I am definitely hooked. I wake up in the morning thinking of new ways to use them. I very good investment I think!

playing with paper

I was lucky enough to be playing with new supplies from The Scrapping Nook. Janice just had a HUGE sale as she was moving locations for her store and I think she wanted less to move. I created this after I had finished my night shifts.... I do my most interesting creations when I am exhausted from working nights it seems LOL. Jessica likes this layout so much that she wants to have it at her wedding reception that is in 49 days.... but who's counting right? can you believe my little girl will be married in 49 days? time flies

sme sneek peaks for Scrapbook Queens

I was lucky enough to play with Graphic 45's olde curiosity shoppe papers. they are so fun to cut apart!! I think the thing that I like about G45 the most is that you can be silly and put flying pigs on a tag or layout and it is nothing but awesome!! I have to admit when I was at Scrapbook Queens I picked up the whole line of papers..... guilty as charged! LOL Both of these projects can also be seen in the G45 manufacturer's gallery. Scrapbook Queens is having a big online crop this Friday with lots of prizes. come check it out. (and there is also a garage sale going on at the store this weekend.... what a great weekend to go to a scrapbook store!)

a fun little card

I made this card for Scrapbook Queens. I inked my embossing folder before I ran the card stock through. It gave me this vintage grungy look that complemented the Bo Bunny label. The black die cut was made with a Nellie die. I added some sparkle and a seam binding bow and there you have it.

OK maybe it wasn't the last card.... hehehe

I couldn't put the stuff away.... I had to make another card. now I really have to. He'll be home in 20 minutes.... wish me luck!

one more card

I so love this line of paper.... I had to make another card before I had to clean up before my husband gets home from work and wonders if I did anything besides scrapbook today (I didn't, but he doesn't need to know that does he????)

hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it

Prima Almanac

I am working with Prima Almanac for the Scrapping Nook this month. what a wonderful paper line this is. It is so me!!! I made these 2 layouts this morning and they were so easy to create.

back in the groove

for a while I was making very linear layouts. That is all well and good, but it felt good to be in my "lane" again so to speak. I love grungy, distressed layouts. The creative process just flows when I am doing this kind of work.... hmmmm wonder what that says about me?? LOL

and here it is.....

without further adieu.... here is the layout made for Scrapbook Queens from Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 paper.

a little sneak peek

I have been working on things for Scrapbook Queens and I thought I would show you a little sneak peek of what I have been up to. I totally love Cosmo Cricket 1934 line and I jumped at the chance to work with it. The paper and the embellishments are right up my alley!!!

on a side note, I got back to my treadmill last night after work. The thought of going hard on the treadmill for an hour after I have already worked 12 hours doesn't excite me as I'm starting, but about 40 minutes in I was pretty darn excited. (not to mention feeling full of energy) I was watching the Grammy's anyways, might as well be working out! well, 5+ km later I am so excited I did it. good bye 900 calories!!! I can still feel the burn in my quads today. It sounds silly but I love my treadmill..... OK it's kind of a love hate relationship LOL

more fancy pants papers

I will be the first to admit that I planned to use the other side of both of these patterned papers when I received them. I just couldn't imagine using them and certainly not together. Well, one thing led to another this morning and I ended up putting them together and, funny enough, they work well together!! LOL I was inspired by the sketch at Sketches: Creatively Yours and in particular Julie's take on the sketch. I loved what she did with it and it inspired me to get busy. The flowers have been inked and torn apart and glued back together. I cut small rosettes from the Maya Road trim and inked them a little and glued them in the middle. The chandelier is Kaisercraft and was inked with distress ink then covered in crackle accents. The centre trim was inked with pink and brown and both types of alphas were inked to age them a little bit. so glad it came together!!!

I love that January is over. January represents cold and dreary. good bye cold and dreary!! I am looking forward to warmer happier weather.

I have been playing with Fancy Pants It's the little things papers for the Scrapping Nook and look what I made -isn't it cute? I am glad I got to use my Spellbinder heart dies again. I can't wait to put some goodies in it and give it away on Valentine's day

The Scrapping Nook DT

some DT work for The Scrapping Nook. I absolutely loved working with the Echo Park Times and Seasons paper line. I especially love the moustache elements
