there is no one on this earth that can inspire a lover of all things grungy to start creating like the incredible Mr Tim Holtz. I loved the inspiration that his January 2014 tag provided. I didn't have all of the products that he used so I got to dive into the stash and see what worked for me. I love this process. I didn't have the sticky backed foil so I used silver paper and glued it to cardboard I had in my recycle box. I didn't have his rub ons, distress stain, charms or stamp but I kind of really like what I came up with. I can't wait for February 1 for the next tag inspiration.

My creative take on Tim's October tag
Holy cow it's been a long time since I have posted anything on my blog. lots has happened in the last 6 months. My beautiful daughter is pregnant with our first grandchild. It just happens that God has blessed us with a little granddaughter who's name will be Stella. She is due the 16th of January. We couldn't be happier!!!
I've also had thumb/wrist surgery. as I type I am in a cast. 4 weeks done and 1 more to go!!! even though it's a pretty pink cast, I am ready to move on to physio and working hard to get it back to a state that is pain free. I hear the total recovery time can take a year.
The cast hasn't stopped me from scrapping though. I was inspired by Tim Holtz' Oct tag of the month to get out the distress glitter. -I mean really, a cast couldn't keep me away from working with glitter right? I didn't have the dies he used for his tag, so I glittered up this flower. It's hard to see just how pretty the glitter made the flower because the light isn't the greatest right now but I'm sure you get the idea. I used Tim Holtz' simple sayings stamps at the bottom. I stamped it using distress paint and I really like the effect

Teresa Collins Far and Away
I was lucky enough to be working with the Teresa Collins Far and Away collection this month for The Scrapping Nook. It was a perfect collection for all those travel pages. I hadn't scrapped these photos in 25 yrs. We went to Daytona Beach for March Break. Look how young we were LOL. The paper worked equally well for my layout about Ryan making us dinner and the beautiful vintage layout of Jess and Paul on their wedding day.

my take on Tim's March tag
whew, made it just in the nick of time..... I got to play today and make my version of Tim Holtz' March tag. I didn't have the bunny die or the grass die so I improvised and cut them with my Cameo. That was no easy feat considering I got the Cameo on Thursday and I have worked 36 hours since Thursday when I got it. I like how it turned out even with all the improvisations. (look at the difference lighting makes.... from daylight to night time)

Teresa Collins Far and Away
I can't believe how lovely this paper collection from Teresa Collins is. Anyone who knows me knows that I look for ways to make paper vintage. This sheet of paper in the collection was absolutely perfect for that. I used a Crafter's workshop template for the bottom flourish layer. A little molding paste and some Tim Holtz paint and away I went. I really love how this layout turned out. The layout has really featured that beautiful picture of my daughter Jessica and my son in law Paul perfectly.
