back in the groove
for a while I was making very linear layouts. That is all well and good, but it felt good to be in my "lane" again so to speak. I love grungy, distressed layouts. The creative process just flows when I am doing this kind of work.... hmmmm wonder what that says about me?? LOL

a little sneak peek
I have been working on things for Scrapbook Queens and I thought I would show you a little sneak peek of what I have been up to. I totally love Cosmo Cricket 1934 line and I jumped at the chance to work with it. The paper and the embellishments are right up my alley!!!
on a side note, I got back to my treadmill last night after work. The thought of going hard on the treadmill for an hour after I have already worked 12 hours doesn't excite me as I'm starting, but about 40 minutes in I was pretty darn excited. (not to mention feeling full of energy) I was watching the Grammy's anyways, might as well be working out! well, 5+ km later I am so excited I did it. good bye 900 calories!!! I can still feel the burn in my quads today. It sounds silly but I love my treadmill..... OK it's kind of a love hate relationship LOL

more fancy pants papers
I will be the first to admit that I planned to use the other side of both of these patterned papers when I received them. I just couldn't imagine using them and certainly not together. Well, one thing led to another this morning and I ended up putting them together and, funny enough, they work well together!! LOL I was inspired by the sketch at Sketches: Creatively Yours and in particular Julie's take on the sketch. I loved what she did with it and it inspired me to get busy. The flowers have been inked and torn apart and glued back together. I cut small rosettes from the Maya Road trim and inked them a little and glued them in the middle. The chandelier is Kaisercraft and was inked with distress ink then covered in crackle accents. The centre trim was inked with pink and brown and both types of alphas were inked to age them a little bit. so glad it came together!!!

so glad January is over!!
I love that January is over. January represents cold and dreary. good bye cold and dreary!! I am looking forward to warmer happier weather.
I have been playing with Fancy Pants It's the little things papers for the Scrapping Nook and look what I made -isn't it cute? I am glad I got to use my Spellbinder heart dies again. I can't wait to put some goodies in it and give it away on Valentine's day
